No time to make good makeup? How about a permanent makeup?

I know it sounds radical but is not. Permanent makeup usually is very subtle and unnoticeable (everybody thinks you are wearing ordinary makeup), and it is there to help tune the features of your face and facilitate your life by saving you time when applying your make up in the morning especially when in a rush for a appointment. Excellent for women who play a lot of sport or wear glasses and find it hard to apply makeup. The great thing about permanent makeup is that you can correct little imperfections on your eyebrows, lips or eyes, making them balanced  with your face shape.  Lips look great as you can make them look fuller so you don’t need to worry about dermal fillers. But attention it has to be done for a professional in micro pigmentation (Artistic lining). This pigmentation last up to 3 years after that you need to redo because the dye starts to fade away.
It is great to see many kiwi women are already into doing this. I spoke to the beautician who did my lips last time I retouch it and she told me how busy she is,  always fully booked for permanent makeup service. I was very surprise I didn’t know this practice was already well established here in New Zealand and I am glad to know women are getting smarter and saving time and money and also being prettier at the same time.
This photo attached is of me. I have permanent makeup on my eyebrows, eyes and  lips but this photo  is before I get my lips retouched.

Transform your shower time into a beauty treatment

If you are a busy woman and are always in a rush and don’t have enough time to look after yourself, you can at least use your shower time to treat yourself as you deserve.  It’s easy, smart, and cheaper than going to a beauty spa. Take a look at the average price of some services they provide  and you could be doing them at home for half or even 1/3 of this price and time at home.
3 things you can do as you having your routine shower

  • Exfoliation: It leaves the skin feeling unbelievably silky and smooth. Remove dead cells and promote a deep cleansing and drawing out wastes and pollutants. Average price at Beauty Spas: $150.00 for 45 minutes. You do at home for $50.00 with a good bottle of shower gel with micro beads and exfoliators agents. To make this shower gel more effective you will need to use it with a massager that can be used in the shower like the ones you buy in the pharmacy that aimed cellulite. I use Cellulite Massager from Body Shop, it’s aimed to stimulate blood circulation, it’s good for tackling those stubborn areas of orange-peel skin on the thighs and buttocks.
·
  • Hydration: It’s aimed to boost and strengthens stressed, dry and tired skin slowing premature ageing. Average price at beauty Spas: $ 100.00/hour. You can do at home for $30.00 with popular but good trustful brands.
  • Conditioning treatments for hair: Usually it is a treatment for dry hair and damage hair but there is hair mask for each type of hair. Salon average price: about  $100.00 for a treatment that last no longer  than ½ hour. You can buy these products for $30.00 to $50.00 a bottle for a good brand I use Kerastase because it is one of the best brands and in NZ cost about $ 70.00 but last up to 10 washes. You use it during your shower time, I will explain how.
Your shower beauty ritual:
When  you go for your  shower, the first thing you do is wash your hair as usual and then put the  hair mask on and then protect your hair with a hair cap to give the product  enough time to work on your hair while you are having your shower. In the meantime put some cleansing exfoliator (the one I mentioned above) in the massager and starts massage your thighs and bottom in a circular motion with a light pressure for about 2 minutes. After that move to other parts of your body. Once you finished massaging your body, you can rinse your body and hair and dry yourself.  Once you are dry you can carryout the hydration ritual. Pass the moisturiser on your thighs and bottom first from down from your knee working your way up because the idea is drain lymphatic vases and send the toxins away from your body. (You should be able to feel your skin already very smooth and soft from the first time you do it) After thighs and bottom go to your tummy and hips, always following the right direction on the packaging. After these main critical areas you can apply on your arms, chest, back and feet.
After 2 or 3 weeks you will notice that the skin appears more revived and visibly soft. The orange cause by cellulite has improved considerably. And your hair also looks more silky, shiny and hydrated.

Want to do a Brazilian at home?

I love the feeling of a good Brazilian wax.  It leaves the skin so smooth and soft and also it is much more hygienic, isn`t it?  But I refuse to pay the price that salons and beauty parlous charge us for a good Brazilian. Actually even in Brazil this service can be quite pricy depending how fancy the establishment is.
My sister taught me a technique of how to do Brazilian at home and I will explain to you now. If you would like to try take notes:

You will need:
A medium size  mirror
A well lit place
Any  wax for body, bikini line or even more specific like Brazilian wax  (I prefer hard wax)
A spatula

Procedure:
Prepare the wax following the instructions in the package. When the wax is ready to be used, be in a squatting position, then put the mirror on the floor and between your legs so you can see all the area to be worked on. (see photo on left)
Use the spatula to be precise and place the wax only onto the areas that you want to remove the hair from. When the waxing is ready to be pulled off, hold your skin with one hand and pull the wax or stripes with the other hand as fast as you can. (I count 1, 2,3..to help....)
The squatting position is a little uncomfortable so if you feel your legs getting tired, do one side first, then rest your legs and then do the other side. When you get  experienced like me you will be able to do it so fast that your legs will not have time to feel tired.
I hope it helps but if not, feel free ask me more questions.  It not difficult just need some practice, in the beginning you will do a  mess which is normal, so put some old newspaper on the floor where you will do it. Try it and save heaps of money with your Brazilian.

Makeup Tricks: Tuning the Face

Would you like to make your face appear thinner? If you have a round face like me and don`t like it, check this trick out
To tune the face, the Brazilian makeup artist Vanini Roosevelt gave the hint: "The blush can be replaced by a bronzing powder.
With a broad brush, apply blush (or bronzing powder) in a circular motion, tracing a line from the temples to the middle of the cheek.
Repeat as often as needed until they create shade in the desired tone. But be careful not to exaggerate!
If you want to make your face look thinner even more, apply a bit of powder or blush also across the base of the chin
For an even more striking result, apply a thin layer of illuminator on your cheeks.
The face is thinner and the result looks natural. The makeup can be used in both daily life and as a party super chic.

Enzymatic exfoliators for acne and sensitive skin

We smart woman know that we need  to exfoliate our skin at least once a week to keep it deeply cleaned and glowing.  What some woman may not  know is if  your skin is a acne prone or sensitive,   exfoliators  with micro beads can harm your skin causing micro cracks which can make the irritation on your skin even worse.  So  the option for replacement is those enzymatic exfoliators  that I use and love. They usually have a gel texture and when in contact with the skin they liquefy melting away the dead skin and impurities thanks to the enzymes, usually from citric fruits and acids such as AHA.  They brighten the complexion leaving the skin cleansed, fresh and glowing.
You can find these products  at some Pharmacies, specialized websites such as Straberrynet.com  and beauty clinics. The price is basically the same from any other good micro bead exfoliator  from  any well know  brand.

Careless hands can reveal your actual age or even make you look older

I have seen many beautiful women in the streets with their  impeccable hair and faces, but then when you look at their hands.....hmmm it`s not as  glow and young as their  faces. Hello Beautiful women! If you don't give to your hands the same attention  and care you give to your face, hair and body, they will make you look older than you really are because our hands are the part of our bodies where is more difficult to disguise the aging process.
