My special mascara edition post

Since I started to wear makeup, about 15 years ago, I have been try to find a good mascara that could solve my   complex inferiority with my eyelashes. They are so boring, so short and thin. Why God? Why I had to be born with such boring eyelashes? Anyway, thanks God Mascara cosmetic has evolved a lot since it was created in the 19 century by Eugene Rimmel. Now we have mascaras that even treat your eyelashes, not only dye it!
I have been trying quite a few mascaras and other things such as semi-permanent eyelashes, curlers, faux eyelashes.....all of them in an attempt to have sexy eyes ...... I will post some of the best of them here.

LANCOME ( I just love Lancôme very much, they are very good at what they do)

Hypnose - No. 01 Noir Hypnose gives a maxi-volumizing lashes. Its powerful brush intensifies the lashes up to 6 times thicker without clumping The creamy, supple formula glides on smoothly & separates the lashes perfectly Keeps lashes soft & supple all day long.

CHRISTIAN DIOR  DiorShow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara

This mascara is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Contains a unique lifting formula
Shapes, stretches & curves lashes with strong hold & high definition Comes with an advanced oblique brush Gives a spectacular lash curling effect Intensifies curves & enhances spread in one quick stroke

LANCOME - Hypnose Drama Full Impact Volume Mascara -

Powerful mascara that visibly increases volume of your lashes, Features full-contact brush with S-shaped curve, Grasps & coats lashes for a fanned-out, full-body fringe, No flaking & no clumping, Waterproof & holds lashes for 24 hours.

ESTEE LAUDER: Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara -

My friend loves this mascara, and she looks more powerful  when she wears it. This Mascara Contains unprecedented bold volume formula, it has ultra light, lash-thickening fibres, Lifts, curls & lengthens lashes with feather-weight volume.

ELIZABETH ARDEN: Ceramide Lash Extending Treatment Mascara

This mascara treats your lashes while giving you a stunning sexy look. This is what we want a smart mascara that treats and pump up at the same time. Right? It is infused with Ceramide Triple Complex & kerayis. Strengthens & fortifies lashes.

SHISEIDO: the Makeup Extra Length Mascara – The great thing about this mascara is its Waterproof, sweat-proof & oil-proof long wearing for hours characteristic. I sweat in the eye lid area a lot so I really need sweat-proof and oil-proof mascara. If you have the same problem thinks about this one here

ESTEE LAUDER -Lash Primer Plus  (My fave!)

Don’t forget the primer if your mascara is not a long wear mascara. I used exactly this one here from Estee Lauder, because I really need my mascara last all day and evening and be work out proof as well. And this lash primer from Estee Lauder provides superb control for a perfect line dries quickly, stays in place and more importantly is long-wear formula. Ophthalmologist-tested.

LANCOME - Virtuose Divine Lasting Curves & Length Mascara (another fave of mine)   Last all day, it curls your lashes yet in the first stroke, smudge-proof & tear-proof, easy to remove & clear off.

YVES SAINT LAURENT-  Everlong Lengthening Waterproof Mascara – (good stuff too!)   Lash Growth Booster. Gives instant & long lasting lengthening effects. Prolongs your lashes for a sexy look.

MAVALA SWITZERLAND- Double Lash

This is not mascara but treats your lashes to lengthens, thickens and protects the lashes. Stimulate the growth of the eyelashes. (My people from Brazil also can buy it, just go to straberrynet.com website and buy online, they delivery to Brazil as well I just not sure about the freight.)

Semi-permanent lashes: Do the lashes job. I have done it 4 times and it’s amazing, you can have shower, sleep, do whatever you want and your curly, long and sexy lashes are still right there. But they last only a month and are quite pricy for just a month. The average price in New Zealand is about $ 100.00. Also if you don’t go to a good salon/beauty parlour you can end up with misaligned and bent down lashes, as happened to me once.  If is not good you have to complain and ask for refund or to redo. I am not sure if in Brazil they have this procedure. Last time I was there I couldn`t find any place that make it.

Heated Eye Lash the new Curler:  The French brand Talika, promises to give up on the eyelashes in just 15 seconds. The gadget uses only the action of heat to promote transformation. (I never used But I look forward to use it and see if is good as they say). According to the manufacturer, the device comes with a microchip that monitors temperature and warns you when it is ready for use. The silicone pad changes colour and then simply position the lashes let the heat act from 10 to 15 seconds. For an even more pronounced curvature, it is recommended to leave on for 25 seconds instead. Finally, just apply the mask of your choice and get out there popping.
In Brazil: R$ 131 | SAC: 0800 163434
New Zealand:  Can  be bought from Amazon.com  from  USD$ 35.00 (there are others heated lashes curlers cheaper but not sure about the quality)
 www.talika.com  USD$37.00

My hot tip: when buying your mascara, check if the product is not too watery or too doughy, mascara have to have a nice and creamy consistency. Also when applying it start from root to tip, raising the lashes.
PS: Couldn’t find your fave mascara here? Send me an email and tell me why it is your favourite mascara. And if you don`t know where to find those products leave a comment on this post and I will be more than happy to indicate to you few places where you can find them.

Want Nail polish strips that instantly give you extraordinary nails

I know it sounds too good to be true but it is true. Those nail polish adhesives were made to facilitate our lives. Nowadays it is so hard, we are so busy, we have full time jobs, we have children, we have social, commitments, financial goes to achieve and many other things ...oh my God, we really need things to make our lives easier.....

Anyway, Give it a go.........those strips are made of solid-film material with an adhesive back that is activated by friction. The warmth from friction creates conformability, allowing the strip to fit over the compound curves of your nails and seal onto the nail bed. This is a good option for someone who doesn`t have any manicure skills to do it herself or doesn`t have time to visit a manicure or maybe just  want to save a couple of dollars to spend with something else.

Well known brands as  Incoco, Sephora e Minx have a complete range of those polish nails strips and the models go from: Assorted colours, chess ,striped, flowers, cow print, flags, alligator skin, bridal nail, metal colours and  French nail style.

Price goes around NZ$17.00

My Review about this Innovation: I used it and I like it but have to admit that it possible to notice some failures as it is hard to match your nail size perfectly. It’s easy to apply and easy to remove as well, just peel them off!
Minx nails says that to have a professional look (like these ones in the pictures)  it should be applied by a certified professional, but then I don`t see the point of applying those strips instead of going to see a nail technician anyway.

Creams and makeup don`t make miracles; Outer beauty also radiates from inside.

Many Beauty brands promise that their products will do wonders for your face, body and hair, solving then, your beauty issues. Unfortunately I have to say that there is no miraculous cream. What they do is only help to improve, (some better than others) the appearance of our skin. The result of a beautiful and healthy complexion  comes from  a sum of factors which contribute for this final result. The efficiency of our creams can be increased if worked together with those other factors . See the list below:

Don`t forget water baby: Some people say you should drink 8 glasses of water a day but actually depends on your body weight and how watery is the food you eat as well. Reduce the caffeine intake and try some green or white tea both of which are packed with skin saving anti-oxidants and polyphenols.

.Fruit and Veges: Increase your intake to combat the free radical damage that accelerates ageing. Those fruit and veges with dark or bright colours are best-berries are a best source.

.Get the good oils: Make sure you include the good oils in your diet. Such as Olive, flaxseed and fish oil. They nourish dry skin from inside, and especially fish oil helps with weight loss and helps with acne treatments.

Take easy on sugar and fat consume: Sugar is responsible for another ageing process called “glycation” (sugar molecules links to skin proteins suck as collagen causing stiffness of those proteins, so those proteins lose their elasticity function leaving the skin sagging and wrinkly. And excess intake of fat food goes to subcutaneous tissue in an irregular manner, causing localized fat problems and cellulite.

Get moving: 20 or 30 minutes daily is not asking much. Come on!!  It is all you need to boost circulation and improve your metabolism and quality of your sleep besides helps to fight against cellulite, localized fat and flaccidity.

Beauty sleep: Skin cells regenerate at night so it`s important to get at least 8 hours of sleep. When we sleep we produce growth hormones and also Melatonin, the hormone responsible for regenerate our skin. Those hormones are calming and repairers. Lack of sleep cause stress and don`t give to the skin the time its need to recover from the aggression it’s suffer during the day and the result it’s a tired and lifeless skin in the next day plus some dark circles under your eyes.

Stop Smoking: Every cigarette reduces oxygenation of the skin for 90 minutes! Imagine those who smoke more than one per day! Result: The skin is thick and yellow, because of nicotine, without the freshness and opaque. Besides all the problems it causes to health, smoking also causes disturbances in metabolism and accelerates the loss of collagen, the cells responsible for giving support and elasticity to the skin. Summarizing: The act of smoking causes wrinkles particularly around the lips and around the eyes, as the smoker partially closes his eyes to protect the eyes from smoke.

Release your Stress: Emotional stress alters your hormones, increasing the release of endogenous corticosteroids and adrenaline, for example. "This can leave the skin more oily and acne. Stress also makes our immunity system weaker leaving the skin prone to diseases and infections such as cold sores, rashes, psoriasis and vitiligo.

But also don’t forget.......
Your cleaning routine: Take your skin care routine seriously. Morning and night: Make sure you are cleaning your skin with the cleanser for your type of skin (dry, combination or oily skin) then apply the toner to close your pores and calm your skin and lately apply a moisturizer according to your type of skin

Sunscreen protection: Do I still have to say this?  Yes, I will keep saying because I see people around me who doesn’t wear sunscreen and they keep saying they wear but I know it`s not true. (Yes this was for my friends and family).  Up to 80% of prematurely aged skin is caused by sun-damage, Use skincare or makeup with SPF everyday. According to the Brazilian dermatologist Daniela Taniguchi, Solar radiation is a potent cellular oxidant. The radiation penetrates into the skin and causes changes in the DNA of the cells directly and indirectly. It  causes chemical reactions that alter the DNA and collagen and elastic fibres, .According to her, even though our body has its defence mechanisms and antioxidant action, this is not enough to prevent these reactions. The result is what we call photo aging. And the result of this photo aging is brown spots, freckles, flaccidity, rough skin, wrinkles in some cases, skin cancer. The daily SPFshould be 30 + to face, neck and hands (areas where skin is more sensitive) and 15 for the rest of the body

avoid polluted places and moisturize your skin always:  We need to protect our skin from the external aggressors such as wind and sun  and from the pollution as well. The gases found in polluted air  form a film of toxins  that ends up being absorbed by the skin, increasing the oxidation reactions causing  formation of free radicals that damage skin. A face and body well hydrated seals the skins protecting it from those externals aggressors. If your skin is dry it can lead to consequences such as dermatitis and peeling. As we age, the sebaceous glands decrease in number and size, leaving the skin drier." dryness of skin cause itching and allergies, decreases skin elasticity and leads to those undesired wrinkles. So don’t forget to apply your moisturizer everyday and especially after shower, when your skin is still damp, to seal in moisture.
